Area MACT Standards Seminar
Thursday, February 23rd, 12:30 pm - 4:15 pm
The Upper Midwest Section of the Air & Waste Management Association is sponsoring a seminar providing an update on the EPA's Area MACT Standards. This seminar will include a summary of the current list of promulgated Area Standards, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's (MPCA's) perspective on these standards, and a more detailed discussion of selected, commonly applicable Area Standards.
The Area Standards selected for more detailed discussion are the following: (1) Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines (Subpart ZZZZ), (2) Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional Boilers (Subpart JJJJJJ), (3) Chemical Manufacturing (Subpart VVVVVV), (4) Paints and Allied Products Manufacturing (Subpart CCCCCCC), (5) Paint Stripping and Miscellaneous Surface Coating Operations (Subpart HHHHHH), and (6) Plating and Polishing Operations (Subpart WWWWWW). Questions and discussion regarding other Area Standards will also be welcome.
This ‘Area MACT Update’ seminar will be held on
Thursday, February 23rd, from 12:30 to 4:15 pm at the Barr Engineering
Offices, which are located at
4700 West 77th Street, Minneapolis, MN
55435-4820.
This seminar is ideal for those facilities with known or potentially applicable Area Standards or those individuals working with facilities that are Area Sources of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). "Area" sources are those sources that emit less than 10 tons annually of a single HAP or less than 25 tons annually of a combination of
HAPs.
